So, having just NOW started watching The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya series, I decided to marathon up until the dreaded Endless Eight last night. To my surprise, it was actually pretty interesting. I found myself guessing and trying to figure out what Kyon could do to get everyone out of the endless loop of Summer Vacations. To be honest, the payoff was a little disappointing, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't enjoy tickling my brain at the notion.
aw fuck, now it's stuck in my head... *runs off to watch Yosuga No Sora muni muni loop* :D
ReplyDelete^ pretty much this
ReplyDeleteWhy would you DO THAT TO YOURSELF? I don't GET you anymore.
ReplyDeleteFigured it out after the 2nd loop, but thought it was too simple to be the "problem". Now for Disappearance, and you'll be so pleasantly amazed you won't be able to wait to see what comes next.
ReplyDeleteHi! I'm really glad we think alike, I found these Endless Eight episodes original (or rather some kind of "never seen something like this in anime"). And it made me think a lot as well, not only the way of getting out of it. I think it represents that people would choose to do the same even if they lived more than once. And making us "suffer" through these episodes can lead us to symphatize with Yuki, compared to her we had to experience it only 8 times. BTW it was also good to see how many versions can be made of one story.
